I am a member of the International Erosion Control Association (through my involvement in stormwater management field), and am starting an experimental student chapter of this association. Up to now, university involvement has been via professors through their University Partner program. I am engaging students at the University of Toronto in the environmental field, and exposing them to job opportunities and education in the field of erosion control and stormwater management. I also want to show that student leadership is a better model for membership engagement than top-down education-based partnering.
