I worked with WaterFarmers on the Urban Farm Complex at McQuesten Urban Farm in Hamilton, Ontario. Within the urban farm greenhouses, the client wanted to have a sink for washing vegetables. There were no existing water or wastewater lines to this site. Water service was added, and instead of providing sewering for the sink, we directly the sink to a filter bed. The filter bed was designed using research and education from subsurface treatment wetlands.
The filter bed was constructed in 2019.
